The Civic del Sol VTEC was added to the lineup for 1994, powered by a new B16 160-hp DOHC VTEC engine with an 8,000-rpm redline. Built on the Civic platform, the del Sol succeeded the CRX, and its name, Spanish for “of the sun,” refers to its removable roof.
